What is an Employee Assistance Program?

Employee assistance programs (EAPs) are work-based programs that help employees deal with personal problems that may affect their job performance. EAPs generally offer free or low-cost counseling, referral, and other services to employees and sometimes to their families as well.

EAPs can address a wide range of issues, including mental health, substance abuse, stress management, relationship difficulties, financial concerns, and more.
